A wife who went above and beyond in her attempts to discover if her husband was cheating on her has found herself on the wrong side of the law and is going to be jailed for three months in the UAE.
The lady went through her husband’s phone whilst he was asleep, copied his chats and photos onto another phone so she could go through them at her leisure.
MaiOnline reports that the distressed husband filed a lawsuit against his wife and it ended with her receiving the three month sentence.
The UAE has strict laws protecting the privacy of individuals and as this case proves, even a spouse can get in trouble for looking through their significant other’s phone without permission.
The man alleged in his suit against his wife that whilst sleeping, his wife went through his phone and copied its contents onto another phone.
She carried out those actions because she suspected her husband of cheating.
However, after the husband filed a suit against her for privacy violation, she argued in court that the husband had given her his password to go through his phone anytime because she had once caught him chatting other girls online.
The case occurred in Ras Al Khaimah – the northernmost emirate of the UAE.
So who do you stand with? The husband or the wife?
