The deputy ahafo regional minister, Mr Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, has cautioned cocoa farmers against the use of unapproved chemicals on their cocoa farm since the practice can harm the farms.
He said most of the cocoa cocoa chemicals are in the Ghanaian market are fake and not approved by Ghana Cocoa Board. Mr Yeboah Benjamin who is also the Member of Parliament for Tano South, was speaking at a darbur at Bechem organized by a Cocoa group called ” Akuafo Anidaso Kuo” in collaboration with “CHEMICO GH LTD” and “Bechem CHED” to sensitive farmers to the best agricultura practices in a bid to achieve bumper harvest each cocoa season.
The minister said, government’s subsidy on the price of fertilizers and other farming inputs was meant for every farmer to be able to purchase them for use on their farms.
The farmers Association “AKUAFOUR ANNIDASO KUO” honoured him for his massive support to the farmers in the area and gave him him a name “Akuafour Anidaso Sekyere Yeboah Benjamin”.
