Over 400 Families Benefit From Weekly Restoration Ministries Free Foodstuff Distribution – General Overseer

The General Overseer, Restoration Bible Church and Ministries International, Reverend Tunde Bolanta has disclosed that no fewer than 400 families benefit from weekly foodstuff distributed to the needy in the society.

He revealed this when fielding questions from newsmen on the sidelines of this year’s annual convention of the church, tagged Celebration 2020, which begins from November 1 to 8 with the theme, “Arise & Shine” at Restoration Drive, Ungwan Romi, Kaduna.

According to him, beneficiaries are not just members of the church, but those who indicated interests to benefit from the gesture.

Also speaking, Coordinator of the Restoration Ministries Food Bank, Barrister (Mrs) Obehi Ehizogie said that is targeted at ensuring that the needy are catered for.

The programme is called Restoration Food Bank to meet the needs of the needy around and commenced since 2016. Reverend Bolanta has been making funds available for the food.

“He has been doing it even before COVID-19 and even during the pandemic, he sustained it,” she said.

Barrister Ehizogie who has been a member of the church for 20 years, said that the gesture is in line with the scripture, that encourages need to reach out to the needy.

“Due to economic hardship, bag of rice has gone up which makes it more difficult to purchase.

“We also share macaroni, spaghetti, and other items. There are times we share eggs, some other times fish,” she emphasized.

Speaking further, she said that the items are distributed every Sunday.

“We have the names and addresses of all beneficiaries and still use it as contact to reach out to them for evangelism,” she added.

She used the opportunity to appeal to other public spirited individuals and churches to reach out by giving to the needy to reduce poverty in the country.

Speaking to newsmen, a beneficiary, Akor Emmanuel thanked Pastor Bolanta for the gesture.

“We are here to collect food from the food bank. It goes to over 300 people. It happens every week. I want to thank Pastor Bolanta for the gesture,” he said.

Also speaking, Friday Godwin called on other churches to emulate the gesture.

In her remarks, Suzie Sunday simply said, “The food helps a lot.”

A widow, Mary Paul said that besides the foodstuff, she has been experiencing better health since she started fellowshiping at Restoration Ministries.

“We thank God and the pastor. I was having high blood pressure, but he started praying for us it is gone and the pastor is always giving us foodstuff every Sunday.

“The food bank helps a lot. If all churches do this a lot will change,” she added.

Another widow, Agnes Godwin said she lost her husband 20 years ago, but her tears have been wiped by the church.

“Since I started coming to this church, I have rest of mind.

“I have been a widow for 20 years. Every week I collect food stuff and me and my children eat,” she added.

She however, prayed to God to provide jobs for her children, so that they can lead better lives.

“May God bless the pastor,” she concluded.
