I Was Arrested Under John Mahama’s Government But I Was Calm – Hon. Afenyo Markins

Outspoken MP for Effutu constituency, Hon Afenyo Markins has lashed out at NDC for critizing the CID Boss upon the invitation of their national chairman to aid in investigation.

During an interview on Adom TV’s Badwam with Omahene, Hon.Afenyo Markins disclosed that, during NDC’s tenure he was arrested while he was in court performing his duty as a lawyer. But it was so shocking he refused to tell anyone and even his party leadership about his arrest till now.

In his response to a question asked by the host of Badwam on Adom TV,  the MP said Chairman Ofusu Ampofo and the entire NDC party should remain calm and help the police and the CID in their investigations if they think their chairman is not guilty.

The National Chairman of the biggest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has again been invited by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service over the recent spate of fires and kidnappings in Ghana.

A letter from the CID to Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said: “The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into cases of kidnapping and fire outbreaks in various parts of the country. Intelligence gathered indicates that some of these kidnappings and fire outbreaks are being orchestrated by various unidentified groups, persons and individuals.”

NDC as a party is unhappy with how the CID and Npp is manhandling our chairman and they should know that they will not remain in power forever Sammy Gyamfi added.
