The National President of Film Directors Guild of Ghana(FDGG), Mr. Richard J. A. Boateng, and a delegation from the Ghana Film Industry paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, and the Deputy Minister, Honourable Pius Enam Hadziede, on Tuesday 12th September 2017.
The National President of FDGG related to the Hon. Minister that some members of the Ghana Film Industry have come together to support the Starlets for the Under 17 World Cup in India. Mr. Boateng stated that the delegation will like to mount an exhibition stand at the front of all the stadiums where the Starlets will be playing to promote Ghana to the Indians and the supporters of all the other countries who will be there.
The Hon. Minister and the Deputy Minister were extremely excited. Hon. Asiamah commended the filmmakers for such a voluntary gesture. “Since you are super stars and brand Ambassadors to some companies my Ministry would be very grateful if you will lead our planning committee to some selected private companies to help us get sponsorship for the Supporters to go and support the Starlets in India.” The Hon. Minister said.
“We are ever ready to join your committee to any company for sponsorship.” Mr. Boateng responded. The meeting ended with exchange of pleasantries between the delegation and the Ministers.
Among the delegation are Hon. Mikki Osei, Berko, Director of Operations (FDGG), Gloria Osei Safo (Ghana Actors Guild) and Evans Quarcoo, (FDGG | Volta Regional Chairman).
