Ghana’s Telecommunication giant MTN Ghana has as part of its effort to support Ghanaians particularly ‘MTN subscribers’ during this COVID-19 pandemic session zero-rated a number of government websites.
Zero-rating’ is when an ISP applies a price of zero to the data traffic associated with a particular application or website.
This implies that MTN users in Ghana will be able to surf the below-listed government websites without any data charges.
MTN Ghana said the purpose of zero-rating some government websites is to help any customer out there to access relevant information and resources from the Ministries under the auspices of the government providing COVID-19 news and updates, eg http://ghanahealthservice.org/
However, the Telecommunication’s giant said users are to note that all these websites have a daily limit of 500MB.
