The two CHIP Compounds were
Dwere Gomboe Community CHIP compound and
Kurawura Kura community CHIP compound in the Kintampo North Municipality.
On Assumption of office, the Municipal Chief Executive Michael Sarkodie Baffoe pleaded that the contractor goes to find money wherever to complete the project to enable the community have assess to critically needed health care and also to enable health workers who previously refused postings to the community due to lack of accommodation have asses to accommodation
The MCE further promised that upon completion, he will ensure that payment will be promptly made to the contractor. This was further corroborated by the municipal health Director. The contractor went ahead to borrow money to complete the project and duly handed over to the assembly which the MCE Micheal Sarkodie Baffoe amidst pomp and fun fair inaugurated the two projects as the first project he achieved in assumption of office and touted he has completed the project the previous administration failed to complete.
However after the issuance of the the first payment two years ago to the contractor the MCE Micheal Sarkodie Baffoe has told one story after the other and rarely pick up calls made to him in connection to the payment until last Thursday when he told the contractor he didn’t have a Contract with the contractor since the project was initiated by the previous government.
The Assembly under his leadership has misplaced records pertaining to the project and therefore didn’t have records to rely on for payment.
He added that the MCE said he is focused on committing the municipalities’ resources to new projects he initiates and not project initiated by the previous government.
