BEKWAI MCE TOURS SOME COMMUNITIES IN BEKWAI MUNICIPALITY
The MCE for Bekwai Municipality Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour embarked on a familiarization tour to some communities within his jurisdiction.
Some of the communities visited are Amanhyia, Sunkyerekrom, Atuogyabie, Afransie, Kwabena nkwanta among others. He started his tour 4 days before Easter and continued through the Easter festivities.
Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour says his aim of embarking on this tour was to gather “first hand” information on the problems of his people so he can take the necessary action to help solve them and also to thank his people for their support.
Most of the problems identified throughout the tour are similar and includes road, drinking water, electricity, classroom blocks and school feeding. In some communities it was reported that the cocoa spraying chemicals they get are not enough and needs more spraying gangs
Hon. Kyei Baffour promised of solving most of the problems identified by including them in the mid year budget of the Assembly.
For some communities they were fortunate solutions were ready for their problems.
In Afransie where a school was ribbed of by rains, the Assembly is giving them a new school block. And some communities will be enjoying school feeding from next term (after vacation) and other communities will also enjoy portable drinking water (the contractor has reported and will start a week after Easter). He announced that some contractors will soon begin construction on some roads within the Municipality.
He also donated 500 bags of cement to communities he visited during the Easter festivities.
He said his doors are always opened to the public and thanked everyone for their support.
