AKWATIA NDC PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE DENIES ALLEGED ‘SKIRT AND BLOUSE’ AND ENDORSEMENT OF AKUFFO ADDO
The attention of the NDC party in Akwatia Constituency has been drawn to a press statement captioned, *”Akwatia constituency parliamentary candidate stands by his endorsement of president Akuffo Addo”* , purported to have emanated from the office of the parliamentary candidate which has gone viral on social media.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state emphatically and without any equivocation that, the said statement was either mischievously concocted or fabricated out of malice to ostensibly achieve political capital.
The statement which was accompanied by a poster of the presidential candidate of the NPP, Mr. Akuffo Addo and that of the parliamentary candidate of the NDC in Akwatia constituency sought to create the impression that the parliamentary candidate of the NDC party here in Akwatia was aware of the posters and endorsed same for circulation.
Furthermore, the statement claimed ever since the parliamentary candidate was elected, the message from the electorates was that, they prefer Hon. Henry Boakye Yiadom as their member of parliament and Mr. Akuffo Addo as their president to H.E John Dramani Mahama.
According to the statement, these faceless cowards claimed the position taken by the electorates was premised on the fact that, the constituents believed John Mahama will cancel free S.H.S due to his commentary on the policy.
Without any hesitation, the party wish to reiterate that Hon. Henry Boakye has not stated anywhere that he endorses Mr. Akuffo Addo, let alone stand by it.
Once again for the avoidance of doubt, H. E John Mahama as president implemented the policy of free S.H.S progressively as enshrined in the 1992 constitution, starting with the Day students has no intention of cancelling the the policy. Rather, he has promised to end the double track system which will obviously affect quality by completing the abondoned E-Block structures and construct additional ones to achieve accessibility and quality education.
The statement further stated planting for food and job as policy as one of the reasons.
It is tripe knowledge that planting for food and has failed across the country and Akwatia constituency is no exception. This failed promise is the basis for which almost four years now, the promise of one district-one ware house to store the abundant of food stuff if the policy succeeds has equally not been fulfilled because there are no food stuff in abundance to store.
Lastly, the statement talked about community mining. Obviously, the statement does not support the fact on the ground, warranting the endorsement of Mr. Akuffo Addo by our parliarmentary candidate because he, just like all Ghanaians are aware of how Mr. Akuffo Addo has treated the youth of this country in the mining areas. It is tripe knowledge that some Ghanaians are languishing in jail including constituents of Akwatia whilst foreigners, such as Aisha Huang who was alleged to have short and killed some Ghanaians at her illegal mining sites has been deported to her country.
The party states categorically that, there is no community mining in Akwatia constituency. Rather, what we are witnessing is poverty, due to unemployment.
Hon. Henry Boakye Yiadom has always believed and supported H.E John Drama Mahama and has promised to work to the best of his ability to help secure a landslide victory for president Mahama in the upcoming 2020 election.
We urge the general public to treat the said malicious statement with the contempt it deserve
