Akufo-Addo has performed better than Kwame Nkrumah – Opoku Premepeh

Ghana’s current Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh says the Akufo-Addo led administration has performed better than the country’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah administration.

The Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency explained that the Akufo-Addo’s government implementation of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy makes it better in terms of performance as compared to the former President Kwame Nkrumah’s term of office.

According to NAPO, many people including the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) criticized the implementation of the Free SHS policy saying “it will not be possible” but that did not stop the Akufo-Addo government from rolling out the policy in its first year of assuming office in 2017.

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh speaking at a short ceremony to receive 100 Hyundai buses on behalf of some selected Senior High Schools (SHSs) on Thursday, July 30, 2020, said “he is convinced that the Akufo-Addo has performed better than any other administration in the history of the country in the educational sector.

The Akufo-Addo led government in September 2017 implemented the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy to enhance quality education and make education accessible to every Ghanaian school-going child with no cost
