Chemico Ltd to Support Cocoa Farmers Health

Chemico Ltd will on Thursday 28, November 2019 roll-out its grand CSR initiative dubbed: The Chemico Cocoa Farmers Outreach and Mini-Fair in Wassa – Akropong, Western-North Region.

The social intervention initiative spearheaded by the Cocoa Health and Extension Division of COCOBOD (CHED) aims to promote preventive healthcare among cocoa farmers.

Expressing delight at the opportunity to give back to farmers in the region, Kwame Obeng Agyina, Technical Consultant at Chemico ltd said: “This project is a demonstration of our renewed commitment to our farmer- clients. For us, the relationship with the farmer is more than the regular seller-buyer relationship. We see the farmer-client base as our partners for progress, hence the decision to partner CHED to rollout a social intervention module that we hope to replicate elsewhere in the years ahead.”

The project is structured as a free health screening cum mini fair. While the screening exercise will focus on examining the health status of some 4,000 farmers, a mini fair designed to give sponsors an opportunity to exhibit their products and promote adherence to proper input application will also take place simultaneously.
