Mr.LA Appeals Tribunal Judgement, Heads To Court of Appeal

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 2019 General Election, Mr Lawal Adamu ( Mr.LA) has confirmed that he has appealed against the Election Petition Tribunal’s judgement which favoured the candidate of  All Progressive Congress, APC,  Uba Sani.
Chief Chris Geoman,Mr.LA ‘s Special Assistant on media, made this known while speaking to a team of Journalists.
Geoman stated that the decision of Mr.LA to appeal the tribunal’s judgement came after due consideration with his legal team, and with the firm belief that he has valid reasons to be declared winner of that the 2019 Senatorial election which was held early part of this year .
Restating confidence in the judicial system as the only remaining hope for the citizens while filing the appeal at the Kaduna division of the Court of Appeal on Friday, Suleiman quoted LA saying he was committed to reclaiming and restoring the mandate of the people of Kaduna Central.
Mr. LA had demanded  the Tribunal to nullify the election of Uba Sani on the grounds of massive rigging, ballot stuffing, ballot snatching and violence in most parts of the senatorial zone.
He also asserted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not comply with the electoral Act 2010 in the conduct of the poll.
Mr.LA further alleged that Uba Sani did not resign his appointment as an official of the Government of Kaduna State before contesting the poll and that violated the Electoral Act.
However, Chairman of the three-man tribunal, Adamu Suleiman, in a judgment that lasted three hours, averred that Mr Adamu and his party failed to provide substantial evidence of all allegations contained in the petition.
However, Mr.LA  who seemed unperturbed by the Tribunal’s  Judgement has  appealed and pray the Court of Appeal to upturn the ruling of the Tribunal and hold that the trial judges erred in law.
