A Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Carlos Ahenkorah, has asked local manufacturers across the country to pay attention to the packaging of their products to ensure their visibility on the market.
“Pay a little more attention to packaging and modeling for the sale of made in Ghana goods. This is because the massive industrialisation drive by the government means that there must be a way to dispose of the products, therefore, packaging must be done well,” he urged.
He added that the government, for its part, would engage manufacturers in workshops to train them on the need to do proper packaging.
Mr Ahenkorah gave the advice when he launched the 2019 Ghana International Trade Fair in Accra last Wednesday. The 23rd Ghana International Trade Fair is scheduled to come off from February 28 to March 11, 2019.
The fair will be organised by the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTCL) with support from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
More than 600 local and foreign exhibitors are expected to participate in it.
